Forced Optimism: Mozart's 22nd Piano Concerto, 3rd Movement

Bogged down. Shoulders burdened with a great weight. How can we possibly trudge up hill? Life is hard, at least with any real aspirations. All those motivational guru's speak of optimism. Good and well, but how does one really achieve a positive mind set. Some seem to suggest by ignoring negativity. Others seem to suggest optimism is a matter of kicking oneself in the rear and yelling 'fight it.' The mood so fitting of Mozart's 22nd Piano Concerto, 3rd Movement.

I'm not sure if piece has the answer of true optimism, but it presses on.  Mozart wrote this around the time he was working on The Marriage of Figaro. He had his own set of obstacles to climb.  The song doesn't ignore the fact that life is hard. It doesn't try to say, 'hey that burden is not really there.' This piece has a slapping oneself in the face, keep going tone. "Trudge that steep ascent toward your aspiration with that weight on my shoulders."

So if you're trying to find music that captures the heart of a character struggling to hold a brave, optimistic attitude, check out this movement.
