Self-Publishing Services

My great occupational passion is writing. Currently, I have three novels on Amazon: Caveat Ties, Soul Shocked, and Zaide: Mozart's Lost Opera. I am a regular columnist for the Tea Weekly. And, I have taught classes on self-publishing with South Dakota Writes and Sioux Falls Community Education.

Recently, I have branched out into self-publishing services, and have helped several authors get their work published. I'd love to help you turn your dream into something you can pass on for generations! Your published manuscript. I would also love to help an artist get his or her work on Amazon as a graphic novel or manga.  Whether you need start-to-finish assistance with your entire project or help with a step or two, I can provide a spectrum of services. Above all, I realize the self-publishing journey can be expensive. I strive to keep my assistance affordable. So, feel free to let me know your budget, and I will do what I can to assist you, or send you to the right fit.  Reach out! I'd love to hear from you.

Account Setup/Coaching ($75)

With any new journey into publishing, you'll need to set up an account with one of the major self-publishing outlets. I will show you a few of the options and coach you through the process, as well as, answer any questions you have along the way.

Line editing ($1/500 words)

I will pour over your manuscript focusing on larger structural points. I will pay special attention to plot, character, diction, music, theme, spectacle, and consistency. I won't worry about things like spelling and grammar—though I will make notes if I find glaring mistakes—I'm much more interested in the overall power of the story and whether or not you've written something that might resonate with your intended audience. My critiques are subjective, yet based on reading, research and experience. If you want an idea of what I look for in a manuscript, you can check out my Line Edit Score Sheet. If you would like to sample of my line editing work, I will critique your first page (double spaced, 11 pt. font or greater) for free.

Copy editing (price dependent on availability of editors)

Copy editing ensures that text is correct in terms of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. It also ensures that the idea the writer wishes to portray is clear and easy to understand, that it is free of error, omission, inconsistency, and repetition. Your work should be nearly ready before you begin this process. I recommend a line edit or a series of beta-reads beforehand. I will work with various copy editing acquaintances of mine in order polish out the fine details of your work. Two edits for one price.
