Make Your Own Inexpensive Charcoal Chimney

Cut out an approximately 2 feet by 2 feet square of chicken wire. Then fold the wire in half. Where the 2 ends meet, bend a three inch fold to 90 degrees.
Once you have folded the end, roll up the the wire into a cylinder with a diameter of about 1 foot. Taking the protruding ends of the chicken wire, secure the the cylinder. At the bottom, mold the folded in portion into a concave shape. Once molded, wrap the jagged ends securing the holes.
After your chimney has been molded, place small wood chips in the concave bottom.
Next, stuff it with newspaper or other paper (I used the torn up top portion of the charcoal bag).
Place bottom down in grill.
Add the charcoal to the top.
Light and wait until coals turn grey.
Once coals are ready, dump and spread. You will have to use a pliers to pour out the coals. Or, if have 9 gauge wire one hand, you can mold it into a handle. Use several strands to keep it from getting too hot.
